Defence Minister Gen. Christopher Musa, rtd, has assured that the military remains focused on securing the country.
Musa also said terrorists are sustaining heavier losses than government troops in ongoing operations across the country.
DAILY POST earlier reported that Musa held a meeting with the service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
Speaking after the meeting, Musa said, “Our troops are working tirelessly to protect Nigerians. While we have had some casualties, the terrorists are taking the bigger hit.”
The minister also warned against the spread of false information on social media, stressing that such narratives can undermine security efforts.
He urged citizens to report suspicious activities.
“This is a challenge for all Nigerians, not just the Armed Forces,” he said.
Musa emphasized that anyone supplying support, logistics or intelligence to terrorists would face the same consequences as the insurgents themselves.
He concluded by thanking President Bola Tinubu, the National Assembly, and state governors for their support, expressing confidence that Nigeria will overcome its security challenges.
