‘Did you not withdraw my security details?’ – Natasha taunts Akpabio over plea against withdrawal of police escort

The lawmaker representing Kogi Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has taunted Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s plea for President Bola Tinubu to review the withdrawal of police escorts for lawmakers as the lawmakers will become vulnerable.

Akpabio had made the plea to Tinubu during a joint session of the National Assembly, where President presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill.

The Senate President had also raised concerns that some legislators might face security risks following Tinubu’s directive ordering the withdrawal of police escorts from Very Important Persons (VIPs).

“As you direct the security agencies to withdraw policemen from critical areas, some members of the National Assembly said I should let you know that they might not be able to go home today because they might be picked up,” he had appeared to the president to review of the decision.

But while responding to the plea in a post on her Facebook page on Sunday, Natasha said Akpabio should not complain about his security details being withdrawn as he did the same thing to her by ordering the withdrawal of her security when she was suspended by the Senate for six months.

In the post, the Kogi lawmaker wrote:

“When you withdrew my security amidst the illegal suspension, nko? Allah Almighty, through my beloved people of Kogi Central, is my security. Beat that love.

“Some senators won’t be able to go home this holiday, please review your security policy.”
