Spokesperson for the Amasiri Community in Ebonyi State, Joy Idam, has accused Governor Francis Nwifuru of stripping the people of the community of their fundamental human rights in the ongoing communal clashes in the area.

Idam made this allegation on Tuesday in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.

DAILY POST had reported that there has been a worsening security situation arising from the boundary dispute between Amasiri and Okporojo communities of the state.

Speaking during the interview, Idam said, “If I were the governor of Ebonyi, I wouldn’t sack all political appointees from Amasiri over a land conflict with Okporojo. I wouldn’t dethrone the two kings and have them thrown in jail.

“I wouldn’t shut down schools, causing children to miss common entrance exams en masse. I wouldn’t transfer all the teachers in public schools in Amasiri to other locations within Ebony State.

“The governor has stripped us of every fundamental right we have. Amasiri seems to be on the receiving end of his heavy-handed justice.”
