Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, was once again caught in another goof as he was caught on video finding it difficult to pronounce the abbreviation ‘GCFR’ while making a speech at an event in Benin, the state capital.

In the video which went viral on social media platforms on Tuesday, the governor made the blunder while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Niger Delta Games.

During his address, Okpebholo wanted to acknowledge President Bola Tinubu, who was represented at the event by a government official, however, as he attempted to reference the President’s official title which is the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic GCFR, he appeared to struggle briefly with the pronunciation and rather said ‘GSFR’.

The moment, captured on video, quickly made its way online, where users began sharing clips and commenting on the incident.

This is not the first time Gov. Okpebholo has made such a blunder in public space. During his presentation of the 2025 budget to the Edo State House of Assembly, he was captured on video where he could not read his speech properly and made significant errors, which led to embarrassment.

Again during a campaign rally in Ovia North-East LGA of the state in 2024, he mistakenly promised to provide the people of Edo with “insecurity” instead of security.
