The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday told the Federal High Court in Abuja that the 57 properties allegedly linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), should be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
The EFCC, in a motion on notice for final forfeiture of the property filed by its team of lawyers led by Jibrin Okutepa, (SAN), and Ekele Iheanacho (SAN), told Justice Joyce Abdulmalik that the respondents had failed to place sufficient evidence before the court to warrant the court to vacate the earlier interim order.
The ex-AGF and members of his family, namely Abdulaziz Abubakar Malami, Hajia Bashir Asabe, Abiru’ Rahman Abubakar Malami, were listed as respondents in the suit.
Others were Rayhaan Bustan and Agro Allied Limited, Mountain View Gold and Jewellery Limited, Amasdul Oil and Gas Limited, Azbir Arena Nigeria Limited and Methaqualone Hotels Limited.
