At least eight persons died in an auto crash opposite the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, on Wednesday night.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Akure.
Ibitoye, who said a motorcycle and truck loaded with cement were involved in the accident, added that five men, two women, and one male child died on the spot.

He said: “The accident happened after the truck avoided a motorcycle and ran into a barricade in front of the university, hence, losing control, which resulted in the crash.
“Eight people were killed on the spot, while the bodies have been deposited at the morgue of a hospital in the town.”
The FRSC official, therefore, advised drivers and other road users to always obey traffic rules and regulations to avoid crashes.
