Residents across Dubai received emergency notifications on their mobile phones on Friday warning of a possible missile threat and urging them to take safety measures immediately.
The message advised people to move quickly into the nearest secure building and remain indoors, keeping away from windows, doors, and open areas for their safety.
In an update posted on the social media platform X, the UAE Ministry of Interior confirmed that the country’s air defence systems had been activated in response to the suspected missile threat.
Authorities asked residents to stay in protected locations and continue monitoring official announcements for further instructions.
Earlier in the day, the Dubai Media Office disclosed on X that debris from an earlier interception during overnight attacks had caused slight damage to the exterior of a building in central Dubai.
Officials added that no casualties were reported.
