Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has revealed what he told Max Dowman before bringing him on to play against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Recall that Dowman replaced Martin Zubimendi in the second half of the encounter at the Emirates Stadium.
The England youngster went on to score a late stoppage-time goal for the Gunners as they claimed all three points against Everton.
The match ended 2-0 in favour of Arsenal, thanks to goals from Viktor Gyökeres and Dowman.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Arteta said: “I told Max Dowman when I brought him on: go and do your thing… Win us the game.”
Arsenal will now shift its attention to the UEFA Champions League when they host Bayer Leverkusen in the return leg of the Round of 16 tie on Tuesday.
