EPL: Arteta reveals what will stop Arsenal from winning quadruple

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has said injuries could hinder his team from winning the quadruple this season.

Arteta was speaking to reporters on Sunday, after watching his team hammer Wigan Athletic 4-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Captain Martin Odegaard missed the match win a knock, while Riccardo Calafiori was injured in the warm-up.

The Gunners are already without Mikel Merino and Kai Havertz.

“Yes, and especially because we are going through…before it was the strikers, then it was the defenders, now it’s the midfielders,” Arteta replied, when asked if he’s concerned his squad is getting thin with the team fighting on all four fronts.

Arsenal are four points clear at the top of the Premier League title race and will face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

Arteta’s men also finished top of the Champions League group phase.

“We are still coping with that but we need some players back and fit and to give us as well not only numbers but different options in relation to the opponents that we have, so the quicker the better,” Arteta added.
