Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard, has named Newcastle United as the one club he would love to see win the Premier League title apart from the Reds.
According to Gerrard, Newcastle is his number two team in the English top-flight league.
The former England midfielder was speaking to TNT Sports during his tour of Anfield.
“Outside of Liverpool, if I wanted anyone to win the league, it would be Newcastle,” Gerrard said.
“They are my number two team in the Premier League. I have never, ever said that [before], but there you go. That is life for you.”
Newcastle currently sits in the ninth position on the Premier League table, with 42 points after 30 games.
Eddie Howe’s side trails leaders Arsenal by 28 points on the log.
