Former Chelsea captain, John Terry, has dismissed the talk about Arsenal having an asterisk on their season if they emerge Premier League champions due to set pieces.
Terry, speaking in a TikTok video, called it ridiculous, and said the Gunners been the best team in the league by far.
His comments come in the same week where former Chelsea team-mate, John Mikel Obi, claimed Mikel Arteta’s men were “cheating” their way to the title. https://dailypost.ng/2026/03/11/epl-arsenal-cheating-their-way-to-league-title-mikel-obi/
Terry was quick to remind him that the Blues’ first Champions League trophy came after Didier Drogba scored from a corner in the final.
He said: “It’s ridiculous to say an asterisk should be on Arsenal if they win the Premier League.
“Chelsea won their first Champions League via a corner through Drogba.
“We cannot remove set pieces from the game and Arsenal have learnt how to use it properly and they are the best team currently.
“I scored a lot of set piece goals that helped us to win a lot in my playing days, let’s not underestimate the wonderful things Arsenal are doing”
