Former Arsenal player Theo Walcott has said that the club should have signed Bryan Mbeumo many years ago.
He described the Cameroonian forward as an “incredible” addition for Manchester United.
Manchester United brought in Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million from Wolves, while Mbeumo joined from Brighton for £71 million. The Red Devils also signed Benjamin Šeško, Senne Lammens, and Diego León, all following suit.
The new signings are proving very helpful for Rúben Amorim’s side, who are now riding a three-match winning streak.
Speaking about Manchester United’s recent win against Brighton, where Mbeumo scored twice, Walcott told It’s Called Soccer, “You have Cunha coming back and defending as well and Mbeumo who I think is outstanding.
“You look at players away from the Premier League who come into the Premier League, they take time. These guys [like Mbeumo] were built for Premier League football.
“I think Mbeumo has been incredible and he’s a player Arsenal should have bought many years ago.”
