EPL: Wayne Rooney reveals ‘huge boost’ for Arsenal in title race

Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has said Bukayo Saka’s return to fitness is a huge boost for Arsenal’s Premier League title aspirations.

Saka played again for the first time in almost a month, coming on as a substitute in the 1-0 win against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Eberechi Eze scored the only goal of the game, and Mikel Arteta’s men now have three points more than Manchester City.

Even though Saka has only scored twice since December and has been injured a lot this season, Rooney thinks his return is very important.

He said on his BBC podcast, “Bukayo Saka has been really good for Arsenal in the past few years.

“Maybe this season he hasn’t reached his best, but he’s such a key player.

“So getting him back now is really big. He’s one of the team’s leaders, so having him back is a huge boost.”
