Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted their 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, was “a tricky game to play”.
The Gunners failed to extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points with the result at Stamford Bridge.
Although the Blues went down to 10 men following Moises Caicedo’s red card in the first half, they took the lead through Trevor Chalobah after the break.
Mikel Merino then headed in Bukayo Saka’s cross to draw the game level.
“With the 10 men we expected a different game, we plan it, we went through it in the second half,” Arteta told BBC Match of the Day.
“They get a free kick and they score. Then it becomes a very tricky game to play.
“Overall I think that when you don’t win with 10 men for 45 minutes you have to be disappointed. But you have to know the week we had, a tough opponent.
“They did everything they can again. They’ve never played together so we need to build that synergy. There were a lot of things happening before the game.”
