Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed his team has been “punished” this season for failing to score more goals.
Guardiola was speaking to the media after watching his side play out a 1-1 draw with West Ham on Saturday evening.
The result leaves City nine points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, who have played one more game.
According to Guardiola, the only two matches they didn’t deserve anything were against Arsenal and Manchester United.
He said: “In modern football, playing ninety to ninety-five being consistent is difficult.
“But our momentums are there, the stats always… Except Arsenal away and United away, where we didn’t deserve anything, the rest we have been better.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t score enough goals – that is what’s punished us this season.”
