EPL: Why Saliba won’t play in Chelsea vs Arsenal game – Arteta

7 hours ago 1

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has explained why William Saliba will not feature against Chelsea in their Premier League clash on Sunday.

Saliba is not in the squad, with Arteta opting for Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera at the heart of the defence.

According to the Gunners boss, Saliba felt “uncomfortable” in training.

However, Arteta said he does not believe the injury is serious.

“Yesterday in training he was uncomfortable, so we need to explore a little bit more what happened,” Arteta said ahead of kick-off at Stamford Bridge.

“I don’t think it’s something major, but enough not to be involved in the game.”

Arsenal will be looking to open a nine-point gap at the top of the table with a win over Chelsea.
