Eyitayo Jegede to lead PDP convention screening committee

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) has appointed the party’s former governorship candidate in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, as the Chairman of its National Convention Screening Committee.

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

Fintiri, who is the chairman of the NCOC, said the committee approved the appointment of Jegede and 12 other party members to screen all aspirants for national offices in next month’s national convention slated for Ibadan, Oyo State.

He said the aspirants would be screened on Tuesday.

Other members of the committee are – Mohammed Diri (Deputy Chairman), the party’s governorship candidate in Edo State, Mr. Asue Ighodalo  (Secretary), and Jacob Otorkpa (Deputy Secretary).

The rest are Emmanuel Enoidem, former Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Chief Aduke Maina, Iyom Anenih, ex-Imo State governor, Achike Udenwa, Maryam Ciroma, Felix Hyat, Zainab Maina, and Chinedu Nwachukwu as Administrative Secretary.

“The NCOC notes and expects that the exemplary conduct and strict adherence to rules and regulations during this very crucial assignment will justify the confidence reposed by the Party in members of the Committee,” Fintiri stated.
