Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has singled out two players who helped his team to beat Southampton in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final tie against Southampton.
Guardiola watched as goals from Jeremy Doku and Nico Gonzalez in the second half gave City a 2-1 win against Southampton at Wembley Stadium.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Guardiola hailed Doku and Savinho for giving the Cityzens ‘energy’ to beat Southampton in the second half of the encounter.
“They were 19 games unbeaten, so I never thought it would be easy,” Guardiola said.
“So the energy we had in the second half from Jeremy and Savinho [helped us], but if they started from the beginning, they would not have this energy.”
Man City will now face either Chelsea or Leeds United in the FA Cup final.
