A viral post on social media claims that 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi said every Nigerian will have his phone number if he becomes president. The post has generated mixed reactions: “It’s true everyone will have your phone number now but immediately after election and inauguration of office security dog and bouncers will take absolute charge of everything we know you politicians style”, wrote Anthony Igwegbe. Another user wrote: “A BIG SCAMMER.” The viral post has thousands of engagements across social media platforms amid ongoing conversations about 2027 elections.
Verification: Ripples Nigeria reports that no mainstream media reported that Peter Obi made the statement attributed to him. Findings show that Obi recently made an appearance at the campaign of All Democratic Congress at Gudu market in Abuja.

However, Obi, who spoke in a mix of English and Igbo languages, did not promise to disclose his phone number to Nigerians after winning elections.
Conclusion:
The claim that Peter Obi promised to make his phone number publicly available if he wins the forthcoming elections cannot be independently verified. The claim is also not substantiated with any source or time Obi made the statement.
