Claim: Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s house and exotic cars have been abandoned just a year
after his passing.
Verdict: False. Video is AI-generated.
Full Text:
A viral claim shared on WhatsApp showed a video of a house filled with exotic cars purportedly belonging to late senator Ubah.
In the video, the cars, house and compound have been blanketed by dust and cobwebs as a
result of abandonment, as the caption on the video suggested: “Late senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s
properties. What a life? In just a year oooo…. Vanity on vanity.”
Recall that on 26 July 2024, Ubah, age of 52, was reported to have died of cardiac arrest in a
London Hospital where he went for surgery.
He was said to have departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom two days earlier on 25 July.
Until his death, Ubah served as the senator representing Anambra South senatorial district from 2019.
The late senator was an entrepreneur and served as the CEO of Capital Oil as well as owned
other ventures. The post poses as a warning message to politicians who corruptly accrued public wealth to themselves while in office.
Verification:
Upon close observation, Ripples Nigeria noticed that the video was originally posted on
Facebook on August 10, 2025.
The video looks like it was filmed using a drone. The palm trees in the compound with the
parked cars were motionless. There was a display of an office in shambles with a photo and
many awards on the wall. The image in the photo is not that of the late Senator Ubah.
The picture has the inscription “me tovashali”. Search returns no meaningful results except
some Instagram videos which share the same video with the same narrative.

The video first appeared on the account of a Nigerian content creator. The creator’s first
comment offering to teach people how to create such AI videos confirmed the video is entirely
generated by artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, the content creator did not include the caption circulating alongside the video on
WhatsApp and Instagram.
The caption on the original post reads: “What’s the purpose of life vanities?
Despite that the video is clearly AI-generated, some comments under the post assumed the
properties belong to Senator Ubah while others asserted that they are owned by some other
personalities.

The video has garnered over 1.1M likes, 28k comments and 166k shares.
Conclusion:
The viral video recently shared claiming that the properties belonging to late Senator Ubah has been abandoned is AI-generated. The assertion is also false.
