Falconets floor Ghana in WAFU B opener

Nigeria’s Falconets beat Ghana’s Black Princesses 3-1 in the first game of the WAFU B Women’s Cup on Saturday, DAILY POST reports.

Janet Akeremkowei bagged a brace for Nigeria, while Favour Nkwocha scored the other goal.

Akeremkowei netted the game’s curtain raiser from the penalty spot in the 40th minute.

The Bayelsa Queens striker doubled the Moses Aduku side’s lead just before the break.

Sarah Nyarko reduced the deficit for Ghana four minutes into the second half.

Favour Nkwocha however put the game beyond Ghana with the third two minutes from time.

The Falconets will face Young Amazons of Benin Republic in their next game on Sunday morning.
