Five injured as Boko Haram terrorists attack passenger bus in Borno

Suspected Boko Boko Haram terrorists ambushed a commercial bus along MaiduguriBanki road in Borno State, injuring five passengers.  The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in Wudila, a deserted village near Banki, according to security sources.  The sources said the attackers opened fire on a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ASU-255-XA, driven by Mustapha Adam, 50, of Wajare, Banki, security analyst Zagazola Makama reported. The driver sustained a gunshot wound on his back. Other injured passengers include Musa Mohammed, 41, of Taradal Banki, who sustained bullet wounds on his left hand; Mohammed Bukar Gaji, 61, of Wajare, who fractured his hand after falling from the vehicle; Modu Usman, 35, of Amchide in Cameroon, who sustained gunshot injuries on his neck; and Mohammed Adam, 32, of Bama, who suffered internal injuries on his ribs.  Troops of Operation HADIN KAI were mobilised to the scene for rescue operations.  The insurgents fled the area before security reinforcements arrived.  Sources said all victims were evacuated to the FHI 360 Clinic in Banki, where three were treated and discharged, while two others remain hospitalised and are responding to treatment.  No d3ath or loss of property was recorded in the attack, while additional troops have been deployed to reinforce safety along the route.  The post Five injured as Boko Haram terrorists attack passenger bus in Borno appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
