Former Kano commissioner returns official vehicle after leaving office

A former Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources, Umar Doguwa, has returned his official vehicle after stepping down from the state executive council.

Doguwa, who is now the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, handed the vehicle back to the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Faruk.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Doguwa resigned from the state cabinet to take up his new role as APC chairman in Kano State.

Speaking during the handover, Doguwa said the vehicle was given to him to help him carry out his duties while serving as commissioner and that it was still in good condition.

He also thanked the governor of the state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for giving him the opportunity to serve in the government.

Doguwa said his time in public service helped him gain valuable experience and added that he would continue to contribute to public service in other ways.

While receiving the vehicle, the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Faruk, inspected it and praised Doguwa for returning government property after leaving office.

He said,'”the action shows integrity and responsibility and a good example of accountability in public service.”

Faruk also thanked Doguwa for his work as Commissioner for Water Resources and wished him success in his new role.
