Sporadic gunshots by police operatives forced the organisers of the #FreeNnamdiKanu protest led by the Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoleye Sowore, to scamper for safety in Abuja on Monday.
In a video on social media, the human rights activist was seen leading the protest and marching towards the Aso Rock Villa in defiance of an earlier order by the police for them to stay clear of the seat of power.
However, as the protesters sang solidarity songs and marched towards to the Villa, security operatives, comprising police and military officers fired the warning shots to force them to scamper for safety.
