The United States lawmaker, Riley Moore, leading investigations into the alleged ‘killing of Christians’ in Nigeria has assured to send a report to President Donald Trump soon.
Moore was reacting to Trump’s latest speech where the US president insisted that Christians were allegedly being killed in Nigeria and an action needed to be taken.
Trump had asked Congressman Moore together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee to immediately look into the controversial persecution and killing of Christians and report back to him.
“Thank you, President Trump, for your incredible leadership in defending persecuted Christians, especially in Nigeria. Your bold and decisive action to protect our brothers and sisters in Christ will save thousands of lives. I am on it and will have more for you soon,” Moore wrote.
DAILY POST recalls that Trump had earlier designated Nigeria as a country of particular concern, further threatening military action against Nigeria.
The US President cited what he described as ongoing violence against Christians and failure of the government to protect religious minorities.
However, the Nigerian government strongly denied persecution of any religious groups in Nigeria.
