The Ghana national football team have reportedly fallen victim to a suspected robbery at their training camp in Vienna ahead of their international friendly scheduled for today, March 27, 2026. Ghanas senior national team began their camp on Sunday, with training sessions starting Monday. After their third session on Wednesday, March 25,  two players reported that their Rolex watches, valued at $20,000, had been stolen. The following day, a technical team member also discovered that $2,250 in cash was missing. Team officials immediately involved local authorities, but efforts to review security footage were hindered after hotel management cited faulty cameras. The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, said preliminary reports indicate that the CCTV cameras at the hotel where the team was staying were not operational during the incident, a matter now under thorough police review. They are working to carry out the investigation. The initial report we have is that the CCTV was not functioning, and the police are checking when it stopped working and who was responsible for the hotels surveillance system at that time, Adams said. Despite the unsettling events, the Black Stars are set to face Austria at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion this evening, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT. The post Ghana's national team robbed in Austria ahead of friendly appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
