Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has declared that equity, justice, and fairness will remain the guiding principles of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the discharge of its responsibilities across the state.
The governor made this known during the official affirmation of newly elected leaders to pilot the affairs of the party in the state, held at the Government House in Minna.
Bago described the recently conducted ward, local government, and state congresses as the best and most peaceful in the country, noting that the process reflected unity and maturity within the party.

He charged the newly affirmed State Executive Committee (Exco) to remain united and work as one family, stressing that there is no distinction between old and new members of the party.
“There is no first and no last in APC. Both new and old members have equal status,” he said.
On concerns raised over the removal of some officials from the list, the governor explained that the decision was taken in good faith, noting that some of them had occupied positions for about 15 years.
According to him, affected individuals would be compensated with appointments to represent the state in other capacities.
Bago further assured party members of his commitment to operating an open-door policy, where grievances can be addressed amicably for the overall good of the party.

He commended members of the National Assembly, congress committee members, and other APC stakeholders for supporting what he described as a peaceful and transparent nomination process devoid of rancour.
Earlier, the North Central Vice Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, praised the governor for ensuring that the congresses at all levels were peaceful and successful.
He then urged party members to sustain the unity to achieve greater success.
In their separate remarks, former Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, Minister of State for Agriculture Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, and Senator Sani Musa expressed confidence in the leadership of the party in the state, saying the APC remains united and committed to discharging its responsibilities in line with constitutional provisions.
The newly affirmed state executives were sworn in through affirmation by the Chairman of the Congress Committee, Alhaji Danladi Abubakar.
Those affirmed include Aminu Musa Bobi as Chairman, Dr. Adamu Gane as Secretary, Mohammed Abba as Treasurer, Musa Sarkinkaji as Publicity Secretary, and Adamu Abdulkarim as Financial Secretary, among others.
