
Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has approved the appointment of the Emir of Dutse, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Hamim Muhammad Nuhu Sanusi, as the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 pilgrimage and leader of the state’s official delegation.
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim.
The governor also named other members of the Amirul Hajj committee, including Malam Umaru Nasarawa; Alhaji Kabiru Ali (Kachallan Dutse); a representative of the Emir of Gumel; and Imam Nura Salisu Abubakar, Chief Imam of the Kazaure Central Mosque.
According to the statement, the appointments were based on the individuals’ records of dedication, integrity, loyalty, and religious commitment.
Governor Namadi urged the appointees to demonstrate these qualities in the discharge of their duties, noting that the task entrusted to them carries great responsibility on behalf of the state and its people.
The statement added that the Amirul Hajj team will work closely with the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board and relevant agencies at the state, federal, and international levels to ensure a successful and well-coordinated Hajj exercise.
All appointments take immediate effect.
