Governor Umar Namadi has assured that the Jigawa State Government will pursue the abduction case involving Walida Abdulhadi to its logical and legal conclusion, describing the incident as a clear case of kidnapping and vowing that all those found culpable will face justice.

This was contained in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Muhammad, and issued to DAILY POST.

The governor gave the assurance on Wednesday when he received Walida’s parents and their lawyer at the Government House in Dutse.

During the meeting, Namadi briefed the family on Walida’s current condition and reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring her full rehabilitation, continued education and overall welfare.

According to him, “the teenage girl is currently undergoing rehabilitation at a medical facility at the expense of the Jigawa State Government.”

He said arrangements had been concluded for her reintegration with her family upon completion of her treatment.

The governor further revealed that trained social workers had been deployed to provide professional care and psychosocial support for Walida and her child, stressing that necessary support mechanisms had been put in place to safeguard her well-being and ensure full recovery.

He noted that the state government would enrol Walida back in school and fully sponsor her education to enable her to continue her academic pursuits without hindrance.

Describing the incident as a serious criminal matter, the governor maintained that justice would prevail through appropriate legal processes.

“We will ensure that this matter is pursued diligently and transparently. Anyone found responsible will be brought to justice in accordance with the law,” he assured.

Namadi also disclosed that the government would extend targeted economic empowerment support to Walida’s family to help improve their living conditions and assist them in rebuilding their lives.

He reiterated his administration’s firm commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all Jigawa citizens wherever they may be.

Speaking on behalf of the family, their lawyer, Barrister Kabiru Adamu, expressed appreciation to the governor for what he described as swift intervention in rescuing the girl and for the comprehensive measures being taken towards her rehabilitation and reintegration.
