Kogi state Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has signed two new revenue laws aimed at increasing state income and making tax collection more transparent.
The laws include the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service Establishment Law, 2025 and the Kogi State Taxes and Levies (Approved List for Collection) Law, 2025.
During the signing on Thursday, Governor Ododo said both laws are digital and technology-driven, designed to reduce human interference and improve accountability.
Governor Ododo said the laws exempt individuals earning below N800,000 annually from tax and make it easier for businesses to invest through simplified processes and lower compliance costs.
“The purpose of these laws is to strengthen our economy, ensure fairness, and protect the dignity of our citizens,” he emphasized.
