
The governor of Kaduna state, Senator Uba Sani, has enjoined religious organizations to contribute positively to the continuous peaceful coexistence in the state and the country as a whole.
According to the governor, “At this time that the country is going through another process of electing new leaders that will pilot the affairs of the country, religious leaders have a major duty to play to ensure their followers adhere strictly to the tenets of their faith that preach peace and unity for the development of the country.”
Speaking through the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on religious matters, Rev. Ishaya Adamu Jangado, at the official inauguration of the Northern Christian Religious Leaders Assembly ( NOCRELA) on Friday, the governor noted that time has come for religious leaders to showcase their skills my mobilizing their followers in the right way towards the sustenance of peace in the land.
Speaking on the theme: “The role of Northern Christian Religious Leaders in Governance”, Sani called on the leaders to see their inauguration as an opportunity to contribute to the success of government programmes and projects that will move the state forward in all sphere of life.
The governor thanked religious leaders in the state for doing their best in upholding peace in parts of the state, urging them to continue in that direction as it is only way in such atmosphere that the state can move forward.
Earlier, Pastor Adegbegi Emmanuel Ayodeji, NOCRELA North West Zonal Secretary General, enjoined the newly inaugurated official to see themselves as an opportunity to serve God Almighty and humanity in their various capabilities faithfully.
He added that society looks on them to showcase their characters in godly manners that will convince those around them that they are truly children of God.
Rev. Jeremiah Akila Vivian, Kaduna state chairman of NOCRELA, assured that the body would do all it could towards the sustenance of peaceful coexistence in all the nooks and crannies in the state.
According to him, “We will live no stone unturned in preaching to all our members to live in peace with all by ensuring that we flush out all bad elements in the state for its overall progress.”
