Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello, former Director-General of Senator Uba Sani’s 2023 Campaign Council, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Bello, popularly known as Mainan Zazzau, announced his decision in a resignation letter dated January 7, 2026, addressed to the APC chairman of Dogarawa Ward in Kaduna State.

“This is to let you know of my decision to withdraw my membership of the APC with immediate effect,” Bello stated in the letter.

He also expressed gratitude to the party for the period of his membership, noting that he appreciated the “mutually beneficial relationship” he shared with the APC.

Bello, a close ally of former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, previously served as Kaduna State Commissioner of Information before leaving office.

Following his defection, the ADC has appointed Bello as a member of its constitution review committee.
