The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council’s Board.
The decision followed a prolonged leadership crisis within the council despite efforts aimed at restoring peace and fostering harmonious working relationships.
The Press Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Musa Muhammad, confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday in Kano.
“The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, directed the affected officials to hand over their offices’ activities and government properties to the council’s most senior officer by the close of business on Monday.
“The Chairman, Executive Secretary, and all board members, including Ex-Officio members, were relieved of their appointments effective immediately.
“Handover documents are to be submitted to the SSG’s Office – Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs Directorate and the Commissioner, Ministry for Investment and Commerce,” the statement read.
