A group, Anyi Ga Eneya Movement in Ebonyi State has dismissed reports on the suspension of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 election, High Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii and other top leaders of the party in the state.
Reports emerged earlier in the week that the PDP leaders in the state had suspended Odii, his running mate, Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, Solomon Onwe, and the South-East National Vice Chairman, Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu, among others, for anti-party activities.
However, in a statement issued on Wednesday, the Director of Media and Publicity of the Anyi Ga Emeya Movement, Moses Idika, said the report was the handiwork of a mischief maker posing as the party’s spokesperson.

He urged the people of the state to disregard the statement, saying the Ebonyi PDP has no State Working Committee (SWC) and, therefore, cannot make any decision on behalf of the party.
Idika added that the Ebonyi PDP is working with the party’s National Working Committee to pick a new date for the state congress.
The statement read: “For the avoidance of doubt, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State currently has NO STATE WORKING COMMITTEE (SWC), and therefore, cannot take any decision on behalf of the party.
“It will be recalled that the kangaroo congress organised by the former Southeast zonal Chairman of the party, Chief Ali Odefa, has since been nullified via and quashed via a well-considered judgement on suit no: FHC/AI/CS/183/2024 on Monday, November 11, 2024.
“It is also instructive to note that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, while ruling on suit no: FHA/ FHC/ABJ/CS/2120/2025 on Friday, October 31, 2025, further affirmed the nullification of the purported congress as well as the expulsion of Ali Odefa from the PDP.
“We, therefore, call on the general public to ignore the purported suspension of leaders of the PDP Ebonyi State, as the faceless individual has no locus standi nor any form of standing in the PDP. “
