Gunmen on Monday reportedly killer 27 farmers in the Tahoss community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attackers also injured several others, many of whom are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals across the state.
The chairman of Riyom LGA, Bature Shuwa, confirmed the incident to journalists on Tuesday.
He, however, promised to provide detailed account of the incident later.
The state police command and leadership of the Operation Safe Haven, the military team deployed to the state and others in the North-Central are yet to confirm the attack.
Plateau State has recorded several attacks from criminals in the last few months, with hundreds of people killed and several others displaced during the period.
