Home Alone star Daniel Stern rushed to hospital after medical emergency

Actor Daniel Stern, best known for playing the clumsy thief Marv in Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, was reportedly rushed to the hospital earlier this month after suffering a medical emergency. According to TMZ, the 68-year-old was taken to the emergency room on October 7 after firefighters from Ventura County responded to his California home in Somis. The exact cause of the medical issue hasnt been disclosed, but Stern has since been released, with his representative confirming hes doing well and in good health. The actor, who made millions laugh with his performance alongside Joe Pesci and Macaulay Culkin, has since stepped away from Hollywood life. In a December interview, Stern revealed that he now lives quietly on a farm where he grows tangerines, raises cattle, and even spends time sculpting. Interestingly, Sterns journey with Home Alone wasnt all laughter. He once shared that he almost lost his role because of a pay dispute. When the first movie became a global hit, he was offered $600,000 for the sequel double his initial pay but far less than his co-stars. Joe Pesci reportedly earned between $2 to $3 million, while Macaulay Culkin got a $5 million deal plus 5% of box office profits. Feeling shortchanged, Stern turned down the offer and even fired his agent after being told to accept it. He later admitted it was a prideful move but said he eventually came back because Home Alone was more than just a paycheck to him. He also revealed that he once walked away from the film entirely after the studio extended the shoot time without increasing his pay.
