Hosts Morocco ease past Cameroon to reach AFCON semis

Host nation Morocco have advanced to the semifinal of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after easing past the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Friday night.

Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari scored in each half as Morocco defeated Cameroon 2-0 in the quarter-final tie in Rabat.

Having now matched their historic run to the semi-finals in Qatar, Morocco are two wins away from claiming the country’s first Nations Cup since 1976.

They will return to the Rabat stadium on Wednesday to play the winners of Saturday’s quarter-final between Algeria and Nigeria.
