Famous South African DJ and record producer, Black Coffee, has vowed never to remarry.
The father of four said he now has a better understanding of who he is and will no longer allow societal standards to pressure him.
Featuring in a recent episode of Podcast and Chill, the Grammy winner hinted that his parents had pressured him into getting married after he became rich and famous.
“I won’t get married again. I’m clear about that because I am now in a better space in understanding who I am. I also understand the kind of pressure society puts you in without ever backing you up,” he said.
“With my career, especially because it wasn’t so obvious, meaning I wasn’t going to get a degree and become a lawyer. It was very unclear, but as soon as it popped, everyone was wowed. I bought my first house and car, and they [my parents] were like, ‘When are you getting a wife?'”
The music star said society kept influencing his life until he realised who he truly is, stressing that it is better for him to remain single for the sake of his career.
DAILY POST recalls that Black Coffee and his ex-wife, actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, separated in 2019 after the DJ was caught in an infidelity scandal with a local model.
Their marriage produced two children, while Black Coffee also has two other children from previous relationships.
