Governor Uba Sani has successfully positioned Kaduna State as a leading investment destination in Nigeria by its active participation at this year’s edition of Intra-Africa Trade Fair (IATF) which held at Algeria, the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe has said.
Balarabe, who led a high-level delegation to IATF, said that Kaduna State showcased its comparative advantages in mining, agriculture, manufacturing and trade.
According to her, the 6-day fair reinforced Kaduna State’s role as the gateway for investment in Northern Nigeria as the delegation highlighted the state’s investment-friendly reforms across all sectors.
The Deputy Governor disclosed that she sat on the panel of the 5th Africa Sub-Sovereign Governments Network(AISNET) Investment Conference, where she underscored the Governor Uba Sani administration’s commitment to inclusive growth.
Themed Local Power, Global Impact, Dr Balarabe said that the conference listed the administration’s strides in youth and women empowerment, adding that Governor Uba Sani is providing succor to the poor, underserved and the neglected.
The Deputy Governor, who chairs the board of Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA), noted that IATF provided a unique platform to bolster trade and investment across Africa, leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Dr Balarabe pointed out that AfCFTA is a single market of over 1.4 billion people with a combined GDP of more than $3.5 trillion, adding that IATF was organized by the African Export-Import Bank(Afreximbank), in collaboration with the African Union(AU) and AfCFTA secretariat.
Kaduna delegation which comprised Commissioner of Local Government, Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lagos and Special Adviser on Investment Promotion, Malam Sabiu Sani, engaged in strategic Business-to-Government (B2B) and Government-to-Government (G2G) meetings.
