INEC recognises Wike-backed PDP NWC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accepted the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee supported by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as the party’s authentic leadership.

Abdulrahaman Mohammed and several other persons were elected into the PDP NWC at the party’s national convention held on Sunday at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

The commission confirmed the acceptance of the new party leadership in a post on its official website on Monday.
