Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, has convened a high-level security meeting to strengthen peaceful co-existence and security across the state.

The meeting, attended by heads of security agencies and local government chairmen, reviewed the security situation and developed strategies to prevent further breaches.

“The curfew has now been adjusted to run from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and we have been directed to ensure strict compliance,” said Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah.

“Existing restrictions, including bans on commercial motorcycles and regulated tricycle movements, remain in force”, the CP added.

Ewah warned that violators would face legal consequences.

“Anyone arrested for violating the curfew will be prosecuted. Laws are meant to be obeyed; if you break them, you must face the consequences.”

Also speaking, ALGON Chairman, Hamisu Mohammed Anani, said local governments are adopting tailored strategies to respond to security threats.

“Each local government will develop strategies based on its peculiarities,” he said.
