Insurgents k!ll colonel, six soldiers after attack on military base in Borno

Suspected Boko Haram members have k!lled a colonel, Col. I.A. Mohammed, and six soldiers of the Nigerian Army during an ambush in Monguno, Borno state today April 12. Confirming the incident to newsmen, the media information officer of the North-East Joint Task Force, Sani Uba, said the attack happened while the officers were in Monguno to respond to an attack on a military formation. He mentioned that the insurgents had on Sunday night April 12, launched an attack on troops at the Charlie 13 location but were repelled after a fierce gun battle.
