Iran: ‘That’s how it will be’ – Trump reacts to death of US soldiers

President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has promised to get revenge for three American deaths following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran.

He also blamed the Iranian government for “waging war against civilization itself.”

The US president talked about the deaths, saying, “We are sad for the real American heroes who gave their lives for our country, even as we keep going with the right mission they fought for.”

Trump asked people to pray for the full recovery of five others who were badly wounded and warned that more US soldiers might likely die.

“Unfortunately, there will probably be more before it’s over. That’s probably how it will be more. But we’ll do everything we can to avoid that happening,” he said.

US Central Command (Centcom), which is based in Tampa, Florida and is responsible for military operations in the Middle East, announced earlier on Sunday that as of 9:30am ET, three US service members have been killed and five others are seriously injured in what the Pentagon refers to as Operation Epic Fury.

The US military did not mention when or where the casualties happened, but it marks the first US losses since Trump ordered the attack on Iran early on Saturday.

US allies and enemies were surprised when Trump caught them off guard regarding Iran.

Cencom statement added, “Major fighting is still happening, and we’re still working to respond to the situation. The situation is still changing, so in order to show respect for the families, we will not share more details, including the names of those who lost their lives, until 24 hours after the families have been informed.”

In the president’s edited, six-minute speech, which was first shared on Trump’s Truth Social website, he tried to prepare the American public for the possibility of a longer military conflict than they might have expected.
