President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has once again outlined a timeline of ‘two to three weeks’ to bring the war on Iran to an end.
The President said this while defending his choice to engage in warfare against Iran on Wednesday.
Trump delivered his first address to the nation since the onset of the conflict in Iran, aiming to rationalize the expenses it is incurring for both America and the global community, while persistently asserting that he is on the verge of concluding the hostilities.
Trump stated that Iran had been significantly weakened and that the most challenging phase of the war was behind them.
However, he noted that the United States would strike Iran “extremely hard” over the next two to three weeks.
“This evening, I am pleased to announce that these fundamental strategic goals are approaching fulfillment … Over the past four weeks, our military forces have achieved rapid, decisive, and overwhelming victories on the battlefield – victories that few have ever witnessed before,” Trump told Americans.
The president reiterated his call for nations that import oil via the Strait of Hormuz to demonstrate “courage” and take control of the vital waterway, asserting that Washington will not permit its Middle Eastern allies to suffer harm.
“The nations of the world that … import oil through the Hormuz Strait must safeguard that passage,” Trump remarked. “Simply take it, protect it, and utilize it for your own benefit.”
He also expressed gratitude to “our allies in the Middle East – Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain,” stating, “They have been exceptional, and we will ensure they are not harmed or allowed to fail in any manner, shape, or form.”
