The United States missions in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have sent security alerts to American citizens as tension with Iran escalated.

DAILY POST reports that President Donald Trump confirmed that US and Israeli troops launched an attack on Iran.

Trump warned Iranian forces to lay down their weapons or face death.

In a swift retaliatory move, Iran launched attacks on US bases in five countries, including Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

Reacting to the escalation of tension in the region, the US missions wrote:

“Message for U.S. Citizens:

“The U.S. Embassy in Qatar is implementing a shelter-in-place for all personnel. We recommend all Americans do the same until further notice.

“Actions to Take:

“Find a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items;

“Avoid demonstrations, keep a low profile, and stay aware of your surroundings; monitor local media for breaking news. Be prepared to adjust your plans; keep your phone charged and maintain communication with family and friends to inform them of your status, and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive the latest updates on security in Qatar.”

Similarly, a red alert was issued to the US mission in the UAE.
