The Israeli Air Force, IAF, has announced that it carried out airstrikes that destroyed additional headquarters belonging to Hezbollah in Beirut, as tensions continue to escalate across the Middle East.
In a statement shared on its official X account, the IAF said it conducted several waves of attacks targeting what it described as Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut and southern Lebanon.
According to the military, the strikes destroyed facilities allegedly used by the group to coordinate and plan attacks against Israel and its citizens.
The air force added that since the launch of Operation Roar of the Lion, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has intensified its campaign against Hezbollah, targeting command centres and other assets believed to support the group’s military operations.
The IDF said the strikes are part of broader efforts to weaken Hezbollah’s command structure, disrupt its financial resources, and destroy its weapons stockpiles.
Israeli authorities also accused Hezbollah of embedding military infrastructure within densely populated civilian areas across Lebanon.
According to the IDF, evacuation warnings were issued to residents in some affected areas before the attacks in an attempt to reduce civilian casualties.
The military further stated that precautions such as advance alerts, precision-guided munitions, and aerial surveillance were used during the operations to limit harm to civilians.
Israel said it would continue military action against Hezbollah, accusing the group of joining the conflict under the influence of Iran and posing a threat to Israeli communities, particularly those in the country’s northern region.
