The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revised the arrival time for candidates participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), introducing a slight adjustment for those scheduled in the first session.
In an announcement made via its official X platform on Monday, the board stated that candidates are now required to arrive at their examination centres by 7:00 a.m., replacing the previously fixed time of 6:30 a.m.
The board also confirmed that the examination itself will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m.
The notice reads, “Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00am as against the earlier published 6:30am, while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 am and end time 10:30 am.”

JAMB clarified that candidates do not need to reprint their examination slips as a result of the adjustment.
According to the board, the updated schedule forms part of a broader timetable structure, which accommodates four sessions daily from Monday through Friday across Computer-Based Test centres nationwide.
The change follows concerns raised by candidates and parents over the challenges associated with very early travel, particularly issues related to safety and logistics for those commuting from distant locations before dawn.
The 2026 UTME is scheduled to take place between April 16 and April 25.
