
The Jigawa State Government has responded to growing public concern over the case involving Walida Abdulhadi, an indigene of the state, assuring citizens that it is actively engaged in efforts to address the matter.
In a statement issued on behalf of the government, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, said the state authorities had been fully aware of the case from the moment it came to light and had taken proactive steps to follow it up.
According to the statement, the government recognises the emotional weight the issue carries for Walida’s family and the people of Jigawa State and is therefore treating it with the utmost seriousness.
The statement disclosed that the Jigawa State Ministry of Justice has been formally involved to ensure that all necessary legal and administrative procedures are observed. The ministry is working closely with relevant authorities to safeguard the rights and interests of the affected citizen.
It further revealed that Governor Malam Umar Namadi has personally intervened in the matter, alongside other senior government officials, by initiating high-level contacts and consultations with the appropriate authorities to ensure the case is handled fairly, transparently and without delay.
The government reassured residents that it remains committed to protecting the rights, dignity and welfare of every indigene of the state, describing this responsibility as a top priority of the present administration.
While appreciating the concern, solidarity and prayers expressed by members of the public, the government appealed for calm, urging citizens to allow due legal and official processes to take their course.
The statement added that a more detailed briefing would be issued at the appropriate time as developments unfold.
