Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has condemned the attack on residents of Jos, Plateau State, on Palm Sunday.
President of MACBAN, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, in an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, called on security agencies to act decisively to identify and arrest those behind the attack.
He said that the action against the perpetrators must include not only those directly responsible but also individuals inciting violence through reckless and inflammatory statements.
According to him, such actors worsen tensions and must be held accountable, noting that without addressing both the violence and the rhetoric that fuels it, the cycle will continue.
Recall that scores were killed and injured after heavily armed gunmen laid siege on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday.
Reacting, the MACBAN president said, “To start with, I have to condole with the families of the victims and the government of Plateau State over what happened on Sunday.
“That attack was so barbaric and condemnable by all ramifications. We condemn and do not support it.
“We call on the security agencies to act decisively and fish out the perpetrators of this act.”
