Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has officially sworn in Ali Musa Hardworker as the new chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, following a court decision.
This was made known in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday evening at the Government House in Kano.
During the event, the governor urged the new chairman to carry out his duties with honesty, dedication, and a strong focus on grassroots development.
Yusuf stressed that good leadership at the local government level is key to overall governance, adding that the performance of elected officials at that level greatly affects people’s daily lives.
“The governor also assured of his administration’s continued support to local government councils in delivering dividends of democracy to the people,” the statement said.
He advised Hardworker to live up to the trust placed in him by the people of Kumbotso by focusing on their needs and ensuring development reaches all parts of the area.
The governor also promised that his administration would continue to support local governments in delivering meaningful benefits to the public.
In his response, Ali Musa Hardworker thanked the governor and the people of Kumbotso for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work diligently to improve the living conditions of residents.
The swearing-in followed a ruling by the Kano High Court which removed the former chairman from office.
